PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter (1) with a protective film on which a uniform alignment film (5) can be formed without deteriorating color pixels (2) or the protective film (3). SOLUTION: The color filter (1) with a protective film consists of color pixels (2) and the protective film (3) formed on the color pixels. The surface of the protective film is subjected to silane coupling treatment. A uniform alignment film (5) can be formed on the protective film (3) of the color filer with the protective film by coating with a composition for the formation of the alignment film.
