Method for treating the carpet comprises compressing the definite area of piles on the carpet according to a pattern to make low, cutting piles in the area not being compressed and making the compressed piles rise again. The carpet is subjected to a hot, wet, treatment. After drying the textured carpet is obtained. When desired, the design roll is heated to assist the compression of piles. The compressions, cutting and rising processes may be continuously carried out. |
