FABRIC HAVING SHAPE STABILITY AND CORE-SHEATH TYPE CONJUGATE FIBER FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fabric having excellent shape stability by a heat-setting method. SOLUTION: A core-sheath type conjugate fiber having the softening point of the core component lower than that of the sheath component by >=20 deg.C determined by JIS K 7196 thermomechanical analysis. The core component comprises substantially amorphous polymer which exhibits no melting point peak with differential thermal analysis by heating at a programming rate of 10 deg.C/min in a nitrogen atmosphere. A fabric prepared by using the conjugate fiber.
