PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new aromatic diamine compound having a sulfonic group, useful as a raw material for polyimide, polyamide and polyurethane, wherein the sulfonic group is bonded to another than the amino-bonded aromatic ring. SOLUTION: This aromatic diamine compound is represented by the chemical formula (1). (Wherein, D<1> is a direct bond, O, CH2 , C(CH3 )2 , C(CF3 )2 or S; Ar<1> comprises at least one aromatic ring and is a bivalent group having at least one sulfonic group or its derivative as a substituent; and R<1> to R<4> are each independently H and/or a 1-2C alkyl.).
