PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform the meandering adjustment of a belt even in the case of using a soft or thin belt whose creep deformation is restrained by making the diameter of a driving roller smaller with the miniaturization of an image forming device. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, a plurality of monochrome toner image forming means 40 are successively arranged on an endless belt 30 stretched and laid on a driving roller 10 and a meandering adjusting roller 20 and driven, and toner images by the monochrome toner image forming means are successively transferred to the belt directly or a recording medium carried on the belt so as to obtain a color image. In the device, the roller 20 is constituted so that its diameter is larger than that of the roller 10. The roller 20 can be constituted also as a tension roller imparting tensile force to the belt 30. In the case of providing a driven roller 12 in addition to the driving roller and the meandering adjusting roller, the winding amount of the belt round the roller 12 is made smaller than that round the meandering adjusting roller.
