SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING AND INSTANTANEOUSLY REPORTING EARTHQUAKE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a disaster by informing a predicted magnitude of a predicted arriving time of an earthquake thereby assisting prompt preparation against the earthquake. SOLUTION: A system for predicting and instantaneously informing of an arriving earthquake wave based on real-time information concerning to the earthquake is provided with means 2 and 3 for receiving real-time information concerning to the earthquake, a first decision means 4 for making a decision whether information is required or not based on the real time information received by the receiving means, means for performing predictive operation of an earthquake wave arriving at a specified place based on the real time information received by the receiving means, and means 6 and 7 for informing arrival of an earthquake wave predicted by the operating means, and seismic parameters determined in earthquake observation network are transmitted to a relevant spot before the earthquake wave arrives thereat and required information of that spot is instantaneously calculated and displayed while taking account of the location of that spot and the seismological characteristics thereat.
