PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing a liquid crystal cell which is the liquid crystal cell for a liquid crystal display device especially for a portable use, which has a plastic substrate on the display screen side and a glass substrate on the opposite side and which is light-weight. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the liquid crystal cell constructed with the plastic substrate including a polarizing plate on the display screen side and with the glass substrate on the opposite side, comprising a liquid crystal sealed in with a sealant and having a desired size, the method for manufacturing the liquid crystal cell is characterized by sealing in the liquid crystal between the plastics substrate and the glass substrate both larger than the desired size with the sealant, cutting the plastic substrate on the display screen side and simultaneously scribing the glass substrate and subsequently splitting them so as to form the liquid crystal cell having the desired size. |
