PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial tire for heavy-duty vehicle provided with a rubber composition maintaining high elasticity and having durability by vulcanization for a long time and a belt layer made of the rubber composition and having heat resistance, durability and crack resistance. SOLUTION: This radial tire for heavy-duty vehicle has a belt layer made of a steel cord and coating rubber for the steel cord. The coating rubber is made by blending 100 pts.mass of the rubber component made of isoprene rubber and transpolybutadiene and N,N'-diphenylmethane-bis-maleimide by a specified amount. The compounding ratio of transpolybutadiene is characterized by being 25 mass% to 75 mass% of the total amount of both of N,N'-diphenylmethane-bis- maleimide and transpolybutadiene.
