VOICE PICKUP SYSTEM WITH DIRECTIONAL SENSITIVITY FOR DISPLAYING PICKUP AREA AND/OR INTERFERENCE SOURCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user who uses a voice pickup system with directional sensitivity to explain system action and affect the system in accordance with his/her request. SOLUTION: The voice pickup system has the directional sensitivity and is provided with a system constituting part for displaying a pickup area of the system and/or a system constituting part for displaying an interference source. In a preferred embodiment, an artifact or a part of the artifact is useful for displaying the pickup area and/or the interference source. The design for a stylized human head or dog is appropriate. The voice pickup system is especially important as an essential part of a voice recognition system used as a user interface for controlling an apparatus.
