<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal mixing type fermentation apparatus by which good compost is obtained without adjusting the apparatus in response to the change in the nature of a treated substance. SOLUTION: The treated substance X within a tank 5a is sequentially scraped up with a plurality of scrapers 10a, 10b arranged on the inner surface 5b of the peripheral wall of the tank 5a in accordance with the rotation of the tank 5a. In this case, the treated substances whose particle size become greater by being rolled and granulated according to the rotation of the tank 5a are also sequentially scraped up by the above scrapers 10a, 10b. The treated substances scraped up by the scrapers 10a, 10b are caused to slide down sequentially from scrapers 10a, 10b at a position higher than the repose angleθ5 of the above treated substances, and the treated substances slid down from the scrapers 10a, 10b collide with inclined baffle plates 11b (11a) and are crushed and further fall down and are mixed with the treated substances X forming an inclined face due to the rotation of the tank 5. In this way, the mixture becomes not to ball form but to granules of desired particle size so as to ensure air permeability and sufficiently fermented.</p> |
