PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation sensor that can highly sensitively and accurately measure a rotation number by decreasing the distribution difference of the magnetic field on a magnet surface to level that the rotation number can be read using an MR element or less. SOLUTION: The rotation sensor, which detects the change of the magnetic field caused by a rotor having a magnetic substance with the MR element to measure the rotation number of the rotor, is constituted of a magnet plate, a regular magnetic field plate contacting the surface of this magnet plate to make the magnetic field distribution uniform, and a plurality of MR elements arranged on the surface of this regular magnetic field plate.
