PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve the impact force added to a hood in collision of an automobile with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A hood hinge 12 is mounted to pivot one end side of the hood 11 on a car body stationary side member 3 in such manner that the other end side in the longitudinal direction of the hood 11 is upwardly reciprocatable A, B. The hood hinge 12 is provided with a fixed bracket 16 made of a steel plate, longitudinally and vertically extended, and fixed to the car body stationary side member 3 at its lower end part by a fixing tool 15, and a rotary bracket 20 mounted on the hood 11 and pivoted on the fixed bracket 16 by means of a pivot shaft 19 to be rotated with the hood 11. An upper end part 17 of the fixed bracket 16 is projected to one of the longitudinal directions of the car body 2 in a cantilevered state in a side view of the car body 2.
