摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated optical waveguide device that suppresses a DC drift phenomenon by a pyroelectric or piezoelectric effect. SOLUTION: An optical integrated circuit device is provided with a substrate of a ferroelectric material having first and second surfaces perpendicular to a direction of spontaneous polarization. At least a longitudinal waveguide section of at least one waveguide is formed in a first substrate region having a first orientation of spontaneous polarization of a first surface. At least one second substrate region is provided on the first surface adjacent to the first substrate region transversally to the longitudinal substrate section. An electric field component tangential to the first surface is developed in consequence to polarization or free charges generated by one or more of pyroelectric, piezoelectric and photovoltaic effects. A material layer containing mobile charges is associated with the first surface, a displacement of the mobile charges is induced by the tangential electric field component, which substantially compensates the polarization or free charges in the substrate to reduce an electric field component perpendicular to the at least longitudinal substrate section.</p>
