PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal detecting machine which detects only a really harmful metal piece which must not exist in an object to be detected but which does not detect a food or the like for bringing about a so-called product effect such as a harmless metal necessary to package a container made of an aluminum, a foil or the like. SOLUTION: The metal detecting machine 20 comprises a conveying means 1 for conveying the object to be detected, an energizing means 15 disposed near the means 1 to magnetize the metal piece to be detected in the subject, a detecting means 16 disposed near the means 1 for detecting the magnetized piece, and a discriminating means 17 for discriminating the presence or absence of the piece in the object according to a signal from the means 16. In this machine 20, the means 16 is disposed at a separate position at which a magnetic field of the means 15 does not arrive on the downstream side in the conveying direction of the object from the means 15. |
