PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost liquid crystal display device not disturbed on the screen even when input radio waves are weak. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a signal processing part 7 for extracting a video signal and a synchronous signal from an input video signal, an AGC part 8 for controlling the gains of the video signal and the synchronous signal, a timing control part 9 for generating a plurality of signals from the synchronous signal, a liquid crystal panel 10 and signal line driving parts IC1-IC5, and a switching circuit 14, and the timing control part 9 outputs a free-running mode signal according to the state of the synchronous signal, and the switching circuit 14 sets the gains of the AGC part 8 higher when the free-running mode signal is inputted.
