PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for end surface polishing having a fitting groove fitted with a workpiece end surface, wherein chips produced in the fitting groove are smoothly discharged so as to effectively prevent clogging in a grinding wheel deriving from a build-up of chips. SOLUTION: In a tool 14 for end surface polishing having a fitting groove 21 fitted with a workpiece end surface on an outer peripheral surface, while a discharge groove 26 from the groove bottom to the outside end is formed on the surface of the fitting groove 21, a liquid jet passage 24 for jetting a polishing liquid from the bottom of the fitting groove 21 is provided. Chips produced in the fitting groove 21 are discharged to the outside of the fitting groove 21 through the discharge groove 26 together with the polishing liquid jetted from the liquid jet passage 24.
