PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image peeling method which can easily and sufficiently remove an image forming material from a material to be recorded, an image peeling device and the material to be recorded to which this method and device are applied. SOLUTION: This method comprises peeling the image by supplying a solution containing at least water to an image printing surface of the material to be recorded which has the image formed by the hot meltable or thermoplastic image forming material and bringing the material to be recorded into contact with an image peeling body under heating in the state of holding the solution, in which the heating temperature of the surface of the material to be recorded opposite to the image printing surface is set higher than the heating temperature of the image printing surface and the image peeling device. The material to be recorded used for the image peeling method described above is characterized in that the surface layer is swollen by the solution containing the water.
