PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document feeding device, and an image forming device capable of shortening document carrying time to achieve low cost by maintaining distance between pages at the shortest while restricting deterioration of an electromagnetic clutch. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic clutch 22 is set OFF for a specified time at a prescribed time t after a preceding document is detected by a resist sensor 15. If it is sent by direct transmission by a facsimile or copying action is discriminated by a controller 16, and for the copying action, above OFF-control to the electromagnetic clutch 22 is conducted. For direct transmission by a facsimile, the electromagnetic clutch 22 is set OFF for a specified time between document reading and reading.
