PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete block for a retaining wall and revetment, which enables a discharge of water in the ground protected by the retaining wall, etc., whose front face has no drain holes, and which has a good appearance. SOLUTION: The concrete block 1 for the retaining wall 13 and the revetment is equipped with a front wall part 2, a back wall part 3 which is provided on the backside of the wall part 2, and an intermediate part 4 which is interposed between the wall parts 2 and 3. A notched part 5 for drain is formed of the wall part 2, the wall part 3 and the intermediate part 4. The notched parts 5 form drainage channels which communicate with one another in a meshed pattern, when the blocks 1 are stacked. A hole 6 for drainage, which penetrates to the notched part 5 from the backside of the wall part 3, is drilled in the wall part 3. When blocks 1 are stacked for construction of the retaining wall 13, the water in the ground 10 flows through the hole 6 into the drainage channels which are formed of the notched parts 5, so as to be discharged from a lower end of the retaining wall 13.
