摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength division multiplexing transmission low-non- linear optical fiber with an enlarged effective cross sectional area in an optical fiber and a reduced signal light power density in the optical fiber in order to suppress a non-linear effect to be a main cause to restrict a transmission capacity and a transmission distance in WDM transmission. SOLUTION: A side core 2 with a refractive index being smaller than that of a center core 1 is formed in the outer periphery of the center core 1 and a clad 3 with a refractive index being smaller than that of the center core 1 and larger than that of the side core 2 is formed in the outer periphery of the side core 2 in a W shape refractive index distribution structure. The effective cross sectional area is 110μm<2> -160μm<2> and the refractive index ratio differenceΔn1 of the center core 1 concerning the clad 3 is made to be within the range of >=0.19% and also <=0.25%.
