PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil improvement machine which can minimize the required length of a leader so as to enhance stability associated with a fall of the machine in a state of erection of the leader, and can eliminate two-dimensional displacement of the leader securing mobility in a state of mounting of the leader. SOLUTION: This soil improvement machine comprises: a base machine 1 which is composed of an undercarriage (a crawler chassis 11) and a super structure 12 including a driver's cab 12b; the leader 2 which is supported ahead of the cab 12b by the super structure 12 via a bracket (a supporting arm 21); an agitating tool 3 with which an improvement material and in-situ soil are agitated in ground; and a holding and rotating device 4 which freely ascends/ descends along the leader 2, and detachably holds and rotates an intermediate part of the agitating tool 3. The bracket (the supporting arm 21) is coupled to the super structure 12 by a pin 22 and supported oscillatably in a crosswise direction, and the leader 2 is coupled to the bracket (the supporting arm 21) by the pin 22 and supported oscillatably in a lengthwise direction.
