PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proper brake force corresponding to the travelling condition of a vehicle just before the start of brake operation in a brake force controller for vehicle equipped with a brake actuator which can change the brake force to be actually generated against the brake operation input by a vehicle driver. SOLUTION: The operation of the brake actuator 28 is controlled by a controller 29 based on an acceleration speed so that the bigger the acceleration degree of the vehicle just before the start of brake operation by the vehicle driver, the bigger the brake force becomes.
