PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush for a polishing machine capable of easily and precicely adjusting a position in the direction of an axial lie L of brush type grindstone in a brush holding body. SOLUTION: A brush 1 for a polishing machine contains a cylindrical brush holding body 2 whose upper part is provided with a connecting shaft 21 for driving and a grindstone 3 whose upper part is mounted in the brush holding part 2, wherein guide grooves 26 and 27 extending in an inclined direction to the direction of an axial line L are formed on a peripheral wall 20 of the brush holding body 2. The guide grooves 26 and 27 are drawn from the outside of the brush holding body 2. Screws are loosely tightened in screw holes 36 and 37 formed in the holder 31 of the grindstone 3. In such a state, the brush type grindstone 3 is displaced in the direction of an axial line L while being rotated around the axial line L, whereby a position in the direction of the axial line L of the brush type grindstone 3 in the brush holding body 2, namely a projecting size in an free end 33 of the brush type grindstone 3, can be easily adjusted to an optimum size.
