PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing of an image forming apparatus having sufficient strength even through a side plate made of a sheet metal whose manufacturing cost is low is used. SOLUTION: This housing is provided with a front side plate 3 and a back side plate 4 which are juxtaposed, a base member 2 joined with the lower parts of both side plates 3 and 4 and supporting both side plates 3 and 4 and stays 61, 62 and 63 laid over both side plates 3 and 4, and both side plates 3 and 4 and the stays 61, 62 and 63 are formed of the sheet metal, and the stays 61, 62 and 63 are welded in a parallel state on the outside surfaces of joining margins 32, 33, 35, 42, 43 and 45 formed by bending the end parts of both side plates 3 and 4 by about 90 deg.. |
