FABRIC HAVING WATER RESISTANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent water-resistant fabric by a heat set method. SOLUTION: This fabric is obtained by at least partially using a sheath-core type conjugate fiber having a lower melting point of the core component than that of the sheath component and no externally exposed core component, wherein the fabric has water resistance and is characterized by being formed the fabric flat by heat-setting at a temperature higher than the softening point of the core component and lower than the melting point of the sheath component under pressurization. The sheath-core type conjugate fiber has >=20 deg.C lower softening point of the core component than the softening point of the sheath component measured by thermomechanical analysis of JIS K 7196 and the core component is preferably a substantially amorphous polymer having no melting- point peak measured by differential thermal analysis at 10 deg.C/min heating rate in nitrogen atmosphere.
