PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery-powered water purifying apparatus which can inform a user of the necessity of replacing the battery upon a lowering in the voltage of the battery to a specified value or less, can avoid falling into an inoperative state of even the mechanism of measurement/computation of time, and the like, involved in various ancillary functions even in the case of running- out of the battery due to delay of the battery replacement, can ensure the continuity of measurement/computation of time, and the like during a time between before battery replacement and after battery replacement, and can guarantee normal operation of various ancillary functions. SOLUTION: When an operating switch 10 provides an instruction on water delivery, the voltage of the battery 9 is measured. When the voltage value is lower than a first specified value, an alarm means 11 is operated. When the voltage value is lower than a second specified value, which is lower than the first specified value, an opening/closing valve 4 in a primary side flow passage 14, through which raw water is introduced into a water purifier 1, is forcibly closed and is made unopenable until the completion of battery replacement.
