PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the variety of game methods, such as participatability of a multiplicity of persons to the game, to enable players to understand the composition, connection, etc., of the poem, while enjoying the game by exactly reflecting the intrinsic constitution of a Tanka (a traditional Japanese poem containing five lines of 5, 7, 5, 7 and 7 syllables, respectively), haiku (a Japanese poem casting of seventeen syllables), zekku (a Chinese quatrain with five-character line), etc., and to improve the literary culture of participants. SOLUTION: The Karuta constitutes groups Gm by each of short sentences Tm by using a multiplicity of the short sentences Tm which are the short sentences Tm of the tanka, haiku, zekku, etc., dividable to >=2 partial poems tmn and make the respective partial poems the same. The respective groups Gm have cards R for reading transcribed with the whole sentence of the short sentences Tm and a plurality of second-line cards P transcribed with each of the prescribed number of the partial poems suitably selected from a plurality of the divided partial poem tmn of the short sentences Tm. The rear surfaces of the cards R for reading and the second-line cards P are provided with identification displays for identifying each of the respective sets; the sets of the cards R for reading and the sets for making the poem dividing sequence of the transcribed partial poem tmn and these identification displays are formed as the color displays varying with each of the sets.
