PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sulfur compound adsorbent having a high adsorptivity, to provide a method for producing a sulfur compound adsorbent being a molding without detriment to its adsorptivity, and to provide a method for removing a sulfur compound by using the adsorbent. SOLUTION: The sulfur compound adsorbent comprises a compound represented by (M<2+> )1-x (M<3+> )x (OH<-> )2+x-y (A<n-> )y/n . The method comprises the step of molding a compound represented by(M<2+> )1-x (M<3+> )x (OH<-> )2+x-y (A<n-> )y/n . The method for removing a sulfur compound comprises the step of bringing the objective containing sulfur compounds into contact with the adsorbent.
