PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book reading toy which can be easily operated even by an infant and which can reasonably cultivate 'pleasure of reading books' and 'a habit of reading books'. SOLUTION: The book reading toy is composed of a plurality of books B, a reading doll A, and a plurality of controllers C each of which is attached to each book. The books B are composed of a plurality of stratified pages for containing 'a sentence' and 'an illustration and a photograph' for describing the sentence contents, the reading doll A comprises a recording means previously recording in a plurality of divided recording portions 'a sentence reading voice' and 'an effect sound' related to the sentence contents, 'music' or the like for predetermined pages contained in each book, a sound generating means for receiving a page specifying number and regenerating a sound recorded in the corresponding recording portion, or the like, and a reading movement means for opening and shutting the mouse of the reading doll associating with working with the sound generating means, and the controller C comprises a remote means for outputting a plurality of different page specifying signals to the reading doll A.
