<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic matter treating apparatus which can enhance the capacity of decomposition of organic matter, and the like, contained in an object fluid to the treated by enhancing the efficiency of contact between the surface of a photocatalyst and the object fluid. SOLUTION: In this organic matter treating apparatus, a photocatalyst support 20 is formed as a double pipe comprising an inner pipe 21 formed of a network sheet and an outer pipe 22 surrounding the inner pipe 21. A space defined by the inner pipe 21 and the outer pipe 22 is packed with a large number of photocatalyst particles 11. Three-dimensional network gaps are formed among the photocatalyst particles 11. The whole gaps serve as a passage through which the object fluid to be treated is passed. Light irradiation means 30 is provided in a waterproof rod form and is disposed along the axial center of the inner side of the inner pipe 21 in the double pipe as the photocatalyst support 20. Further, near an opening 23 of the double pipe, fluid guide means 40 for actively introducing the object fluid toward the interior of the opening 23 is provided.</p> |
