<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the effects of removal of dental plaque, cleaning inside the oral cavity and gum massage by modifying the vibration of a power-driven toothbrush. SOLUTION: The toothbrush utilizes both ultrasonic vibration by a piezoelectric vibrator 11 and mechanical vibration by a rotary motor 15 with an eccentric load 17 in the output shaft 16. The section of the top of a handle 1 is shaped so that the size in the direction orthogonally crossing the direction of distortion of the piezoelectric vibrator 11 is shorter than the size in the direction of distortion of the piezoelectric vibrator 11, and the mechanical vibration in the direction of the shorter size is large. Therefore, a large vibration in the three dimensional directions is given to a brush part 10, so that the effect of the vibration extends over a wide range.</p> |
