METHOD FOR SEPARATING AND PURIFYING LIGNAN FROM CONCENTRATE OF GINKGO LEAVES

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for separating and purifying lignan having vasodilation activity from concentrate of ginkgo leaves with a high purity. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: extracting aqueous solution of concentrate of ginkgo leaves and forming powder; performing a silica gel column chromatography of the powder; and then carrying out a C18-reverse phase chromatography to separate and purify lignan represented by formula (I). Particularly, organic solvents used in the extraction include ethyl acetate and dichloromethane, and the eluate used in the C18-reverse phase chromatography step is a mixture of distilled water with acetonitrile.
