PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke ball containing an ignition agent similar in a calorific value to that of the conventional trilead tetraoxide/silicon without toxicity and without the generation of gas at ignition by taking place of the conventional trilead tetraoxide/silicon. SOLUTION: This smoke ball has an outer shell which constitutes the shape of a ball, the ignition agent which is arranged in an internal space formed by this outer shell and is ignited by the impact exerted to the outer shell, a smoke-producing agent which is made to emit smoke by the ignition of the ignition agent and a fuming aperture which is disposed on the outer shell. The ignition agent has a metal/PTFE-base pyrolant containing metal and polytetrafluoroethylene and a binder component.
