PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring an SIR(Signal-to-Interference Ratio) in a mobile communication system are provided to simply measure the SIR by storing receiving signal data in an off-line memory and successively calculating the SIR about each PN(Pseudo Noise) code offset included in an active set. CONSTITUTION: An off-line memory(203) stores received data in a real time, and outputs the received data with a predetermined uniform time quantity according to an external reading command. An SIR measuring unit(205) changes an external PN code offset through a command using the received data outputted from the off-line memory(203), and successively measures an SIR of a pilot channel and an SIR of a packet data channel as to each transmitter in an active set. A controller(207) provides the reading command to the off-line memory(203), provides a PN code offset value to the SIR measuring unit(205), gathers the measured result of the SIR measuring unit(205), and selects a transmitter having the maximum SIR of the packet data channel. |
