PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purifier or a water purifying cartridge as a water purification mechanism detachable from the body of the water purifier which can easily optimize the water purifier depending upon a change in water quality in a short time. SOLUTION: The water purifying cartridge 10 has an integral structure of a combination of an inorganic filter medium 1, an activated carbon layer 7 provided on the surface of the inorganic filter medium 1, and connecting members 5A, 5B for connecting the inorganic filter medium 1 to the activated carbon layer 7. Upon the removal of the connecting members 5A, 5B, the inorganic filter medium 1 can be disconnected from the activated carbon layer 7. After the disconnection, the activated carbon layer 7 can be separated from the inorganic filter medium 1 and can retain its shape even after the separation from the inorganic filter medium 1.
