PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make applied embrocation partially different in thickness. SOLUTION: The twisted brush 1 comprises a brush body 5 having a brush portion 4 radially projecting outward a plurality of hairy members 2 held by a twisted core member 3, and a supporting shaft 7 for supporting the exposed portion of the core member 3. The shaft 7 is integrally formed with a plunging member 6, which enters the brush portion 4 while pushing aside the hairy members 2. The supporting shaft 7 is composed of a pipe member fittable onto the core member 3, and the plunging member 6 has two side surfaces 6a arranged at a predetermined angle to each other for pushing aside the hairy members 2. The two side surfaces 6a of the plunging member 6 push aside the hairy members 2 to make them partially different in density and consequently make applied embrocation (mascara) partially different in thickness, so that embrocation performance is improved.
