PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kitchen unit which can dry garbage without excessively raising the surface temperature while preventing heat transfer to a counter member. SOLUTION: On the upper side of a housing cabinet (1), the counter member (2), and a through hole (3) are provided. At the same time, in the housing cabinet (1), a garbage processing container (4) which has a throw-in port (12) at the upper section, an upper lid (5), a heater (6) and a duct (7) for throwing in are provided for this kitchen unit. In such a kitchen unit, the garbage processing container (4) is made slidable, and when the garbage processing container (4) reaches a location under the upper lid (5), and the throw-in port (12) is closed by the upper lid (5), a heat treatment by the heater (6) is performed for the kitchen unit.
