PURPOSE: A hard disk is provided to use a part of the hard disk normally even if the FAT(File Allocation Table) is damaged, and to normally use the rest regions except for the region corresponding to a damaged configuration setting region by having the configuration setting regions matching with respective regions. CONSTITUTION: The hard disk(100) logically partitioned into two regions(122,132) by a user comprises one hard disk controller(110) and two configuration setting regions(121,131). The first configuration setting region(121) and the second configuration setting region(131) are respectively matched with the first and the second region(122,132). The configuration setting regions(121,131) store the configuration setting information of each region. If an access for one region of two regions(121,131) is requested from outside, the hard disk controller(110) accesses to one of the regions(122,132) based on the information stored in the configuration setting regions(121,131).
