PURPOSE: A structure for preventing shaft friction in a hermetic rotary compressor is provided to minimize friction of the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION: A structure includes an upper bearing(6) and a lower bearing(7) joined to both sides of a cylinder(5) to cover; a rotary shaft(4) having an eccentric part(4a) on one side thereof to be penetratingly inserted to the upper bearing and the lower bearing and placed in the cylinder; and a shaft end surface supporting device supporting an end surface(4c) of the rotary shaft inserted to the lower bearing so that a side surface of the eccentric part of the rotary shaft keeps fixed gap with a thrust surface(7a) of the lower bearing. The shaft end surface supporting device is formed by a supporting part(7d) formed on a lower end of a body of the lower bearing having a shaft insertion hole(7c) or an inner circumferential wall of the shaft insertion hole to support the end surface of the rotary shaft inserted into the shaft insertion hole.
