PURPOSE: A journal bearing for an immersion roll of a molten metal plating equipment is provided to minimize the wear of a bearing liner and a bush, thereby extending the lifespan of the sliding bearing element parts. CONSTITUTION: A journal bearing for an immersion roll of a molten metal plating equipment includes a bearing liner(6) fitted on an outer circumferential surface of a bearing of a roll, a bush(7), a bush fixing frame(8). The bearing liner is cobalt or nickel alloy in the Laves phase having a volume concentration of 40-60% for serving as a reinforcement material, thereby securing wear resistance not to damage the surface of the bush. The bush contains ceramic selected from a group consisting of ZrO2 or Si3N4 to secure the high wear resistance with high stiffness and the high resistance for mechanical and thermal impact.
