PURPOSE: A recorder of a digital TV is provided to insert data about program guide information into a vertical blanking interval when program is recorded so as to allow a user to easily know the information about the recorded program. CONSTITUTION: A recorder of a digital TV includes a digital receiver(100) composed of a digital broadcasting reception unit(110) and an external output unit(120) and a recording device(200) composed of a reception unit(210) and a recording unit(220). The digital broadcasting reception unit receives signals with respect to program and program guide information. The external output unit converts the signal with respect to the program guide information, received from the digital broadcasting reception unit and inserts the converted signal into a vertical blanking interval to reconstruct a recording signal. The reception unit of the recording device receives the recording signal from the digital receiver. The recording unit records the received recording signal.
