摘要 Thermal cracking is carried out in a reactor (R) without a catalyst, to incinerate a combustible material which is chosen to produce a gas rich in hydrogen and free of or containing carbon monoxide. The effluent gases produced during incineration which are inert with respect to the fuel burner are used around the burner (B) to ensure the reactor is heated to the reaction temperature Soot produced in the reactor during the incineration process is recovered for industrial use, or is burned to produce carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide to complete the heating of the reactions and ensure a related heating system. The reactor is at least one incineration chamber and can be two incineration chambers used alternately. The chamber not in use is regenerated by the introduction of air which carries the carbon deposited during the incineration phase. The reactions are primed and maintained with the help of heat supplied by the combustion of carbon and by a burner in the middle of the incineration chambers. This burner is supplied with an air/fuel mixture which is ignited by a spark between two electrodes in a spark-plug (9). Once the reaction is primed, the burner is fed by gases from the combustible and/or by carbon monoxide contained in the gas produced during co generation. Heat transfer between the burner and the incineration chamber is ensured by a specific metallic structure (10) in the form of wings, honeycomb or mousse placed on the internal and external walls of the burner. The reactors contain a filter (4) to prevent the carbon from leaving the reactor and enter into the combustible. This filter is made of a porous refractory material, such as a layer of aluminum wool. The extraction and purification of the hydrogen is done using a permeable metallic or polymer membrane which selects hydrogen. The incineration reaction is activated using a plasma generator in the reactor, such as a barrier discharge or microwave discharge generator. An Independent claim is also included for a device to carry out the above process, with a number of reactors of various shapes. In particular, there are two cylindrical reactors each enclosing a coaxial burner with heat exchangers to recover un-used heat and control valves to control the arrival of various gas flows in and out of the incineration chambers.
