PURPOSE: A method of controlling idle of an engine for a vehicle is provided to control idle air of the engine varied according to the working state of an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: In a method of controlling idle of an engine for a vehicle, after starting the engine, operation of an air conditioner switch by a driver is decided by an engine control unit(S120). If the switch of an air conditioner is on-state, map data according to the engine RPM(Revolutions Per Minute) and the temperature of a coolant are set up, and then whether a pressure sensor of the air conditioner is normal is decided by the engine control unit(S130,S140). If the pressure sensor of the air conditioner is normal, a mode according to the pressure of the air conditioner is set up, and idle air control signal is output by third map data according to the engine RPM and the temperature of the coolant by each pressure mode of the air conditioner(S170,S180).
