SIGNALING METHOD IN MAC-HS LAYER FOR HIGH SPEED DOWNLINK PACKET ACCESS OF W-CDMA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A signaling method in a MAC-hs(Medium Access Control-high speed) layer for HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) of a W-CDMA(Wideband-Code Division Multiple Access) communication system is provided to introduce a MAC-hs signaling system between the network and UEs(User Equipments), so as to cope with a signaling message error on an N-SAW HARQ(N-channel Stop And Wait Hybrid Automatic Retransmission reQuest) and deliver a message for reset on the MAC-hs by reset on an RLC(Radio Link Control) layer. CONSTITUTION: An RLC layer outputs data to be transmitted to UEs by a predetermined transport block. A MAC layer combines MAC headers respectively with the data transport blocks from the RLC layer to configure MAC service data, decides a point of time to transmit the MAC service data, and divides the MAC service data at predetermined unit of transport time intervals to transmit the divided data to the UEs through a physical layer. A MAC-hs is included in the MAC layer. For a Node-B to support HSDPA, the MAC-hs sets an indication bit that notifies the transmission of control information for MAC signaling in MAC signaling indication pointing fields of the MAC headers, when the transmission of the control information for the MAC signaling is requested. The MAC headers are combined with MAC SDUs(Service Data Units) recording the control information for the MAC signaling therein, to generate signaling transport blocks. And the signaling transport blocks are transmitted to the UEs.
