PURPOSE: A power supply device of a projector is provided to reduce or completely block the power supply for a lamp while the projector is not used temporarily by sensing whether a lens cover is attached or detached. CONSTITUTION: A power supply device of a projector includes a filtering and rectifying part(1) for outputting AC power after filtering and rectifying, a stabilizer(4) applied with an output voltage from the filtering and rectifying part to supply the power to a lamp(6), a sensor(7) for sensing a lens cover state, and a microcomputer(5) for controlling the stabilizer to reduce the power supply for the lamp if the sensor senses the covering of the lens. The sensor is to be a button inserted into a zoom ring of the projector and protruded from the zoom ring for sensing the attachment/detachment of the lens cover. |
