The production of strontium carbonate comprises lixiviation of celestine (SrSO4), for pre-carbonation, purification, carbonation and recovery of by-products. Thus concentration of ammonium nitrate and the crystallisation of ammonium sulfate and of ammonium nitrate are also facilitated.
