PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp and a luminaire corresponding to a small incandescent lamp. SOLUTION: The compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp and the luminaire have an arc tube having a pair of mutual straight line parts having three U-shaped bending bulls communicating via a U-shaped curved part having an inner diameter larger than an inner diameter of these straight line parts, and forming a bending discharge passage by juxtaposing these three U-shaped bending bulbs so that the tube axes of the respective U-shaped curved parts become almost parallel to each other, inclining the U-shaped bending bulbs positioned on these juxtaposing directional both ends so that the tube axes of these straight line parts gradually approach the U-shaped bending bulb side positioned in a juxtaposing directional intermediate part toward the straight line part side other end from the U-shaped curved part side one end, and connecting the mutual insides of the respective U-shaped bending bulbs so as to communicate with each other, a cover installing the arc tube, and having a base, and a lighting circuit housed in the cover. |
