PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network monitoring device reporting an operation of communication equipment which is a monitoring object by using a reporting means corresponding to the operation of the communication equipment which is the monitoring object. SOLUTION: The network monitoring device monitoring relay equipment relaying communication in a computer network is provided with a first storage part storing a plurality of the reporting means for reporting a plurality of the operations respectively corresponding to a plurality of the operations of the relay equipment respectively, a detection part detecting the operation of the relay equipment and a reporting part selecting the reporting means stored in the first storage part on the basis of the detected operation and reporting the operation of the relay equipment by the selected reporting means.
