Described are purified and isolated DAKAR (death-associated kinase containing ankyrin repeat) polypeptides, the nucleic acids encoding such polypeptides, processes for production of recombinant forms of the polypeptides, antibodies generated against these polypeptides, fragmented peptides derived from these polypeptides, and uses of the above.
