PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make effective use of power charged in a battery pack. SOLUTION: An apparatus for adjusting the capacity of battery pack detects deteriorated cells of a plurality of cells constituting the battery pack 1, and computes the distribution of the discharging characteristics of the deteriorated cells and normal cells. Based on the computed distribution of discharging characteristics, capacity adjustment is made using capacity adjustment circuits 7 individually installed for each cell. Thus, the available capacity of the battery pack 1 is maximized and power charged in the battery pack 1 can be effectively utilized. |
